All too often – or at least more times than we’d like – we seem to fall off the bandwagon and our sewing seems like drudgery. In this episode Jennifer shares her tips on how to get out of the slump so you can keep moving forward and stay motivated on your projects.

I love the podcasts so far!
I’m jumping into two big projects for Costume Con, and I always have a problem with getting started because undergarments come first, then all the flat pattern measuring and prepping fabric and cutting, it’s all necessary, but it’s boring (or requires too much concentration when I don’t want to concentrate.) Once I’m past that, fitting issues can slow or stop my momentum. Or I run into a problem and don’t know how to solve it. There are a ton of roadblocks in finishing a project, especially a big one, so it’s always important to have people to help you, either to literally help you with a project or to provide moral support. Art is never easy, but it’s worth it in the end.
It is!
And the historical projects we make involve so many steps that each one is a possible stumbling point – even those we do well on any given day. But that’s the key to art – keep going to show the world what you can do. And we all do it differently which keeps the craft (and art) alive and moving forward. π
Hi Jennifer,
Congratulations on launching your podcast! I don’t have any apple products so I will be listening from the blog.
I think this first topic was an excellent choice!
I found the exit music levels a bit too high so it was competing with your voice.
Looking forward to the next episode!
Thanks for listening! You can download episodes from the player here on the blog too to take with you. And I’m working on getting the podcast into various other channels. Check the main Podcast page for links to those platforms. I’ll update as they get on them.
(And I’ll pass on the music tip to my editor. We’re both still new at issuing podcasts so bear with us. It will improve. π )
Thank you for this episode!
I’ve been plugging away on a francaise for 3 years and I am in the home stretch!
You can do it! π
