I have basic dresses from the correct periods and when I want to I can Steampunk my outfits by adding accessories. However, Steampunk, being the flexible artform that it is allows one to dress in absolutely accurate historical garb and still call oneself Steampunk–because that’s the way that individual wants to express it.

I don’t know any genre, artform or re-enactment that is so forgiving of beginners, nonconformists and outright rebels. If anyone ever tries to tell you you’re doing it wrong–tell them to stuff it because obviously they don’t get it!

They are from a Fashion show that we participated in recently. I specialize in putting things together from thrift stores and such to give a period feel and a steampunk vibe.
