]]>Hi Laura,
I am starting to in 2018. My first class is already available: Hand Stitches for 18th Century Sewing. Coming next (very soon) is an 18th Century Shift, and then a stays class. Following will be undergarments like petticoat, pocket hoops & panniers then outer gowns. If there’s a particular ensemble you’d like to see as a class I’ll happily take suggestions for what you want to learn.
Most garments shown as I teach are primarily machine sewn with hand finishing. I show both techniques when it comes up in each particular project. Regency garments were made all by hand before the sewing machine became widely available to homes in the 1860s. I machined those class projects but students are welcome to hand sew seams and such following the construction order. All projects can be sewn by hand if a student desired. However, corsets and later ensembles like a bustle dress will take much more time if made all by hand. Hope this answers your question.
]]>Hi Christina,
No plans for men’s military outfits as I have very little experience with making such ensembles. Although, menswear from Regency and late Victorian have been suggested. I would probably start with Regency.
