I plan to make this all one color creation soon, however will probably use silk (not taffeta) as well. Purple is my favorite color and I already have a purple silk 1885 dress plus 2 white dresses with purple trim! LOL! I’ll have to look up your completed outfit!

If we’re both talking about Valentine’s, I don’t remember an escalator because this was all downstairs and a very small store. But they were supposed to be moving across the street to a larger location, so it’s possible that’s where you were.

I am drooling. I am sewing up my Jane Fest dress at this moment and am excited about the sheerness of the gown so far. I really hope it will look formal enough once it’s all finished. I extended the bodice 4 inches on the top and bottom (like you recommended) in order to give more room for gathering. I hope 4 inches was what you said… I forgot the exact amount!
