And although English is not my native language, I had no problem following the course. Jennifer is a great teacher. At this point it is only for women’s wear for clothing items, but I do have a hand stitches class that is a basic skills class for any sewing. I’ve considered menswear classes in the past but those projects have not panned out due to various reasons.

    1. Rebecca Rohrback says:

Hello. My daughter is interested in Victorian fashion and would like information on a beginning class that you have. Please send information on the starter class and what equipment she would need to complete her projects. Thank you very much.

    2. Kate cl says:

Hi there! I’m very interested in learning how to sew costumes but am not quite sure where to start? I’m a beginner sewer, what would you recommend as your most supportive, informative class for beginners with a passion to excel in costumes? Many thanks!

      • Jennifer Rosbrugh says:

        Hi Kate!
You definitely want to start with undergarments. One, this gives you sewing experience of different types of garments but also gives you the foundation to making all the pretty dresses that go on top. I’d recommend my Victorian Undergarments online class as a good place to start. We cover the most basic pieces of chemise, drawers, petticoat as well as a wire bustle for the 1870s & 1880s fashions. Then jump into a making a corset. Once you have these items you can move forward with more intensive garments like skirts and bodices. One thing to remember – keep moving forward despite your mistakes!

        Cheers,
        Jennifer

    3. Libby says:

I loved the bustle class so much I made the hat too. The directions were so clear everything went together like a breeze. Now I cant’t wait to wear it. Thznks so much for this resource.

    4. Danine Cozzens says:

Delighted to see “Regency Over 40” at the top of your class list! I’ve been in that category for the entire time I’ve been doing Regency, starting with the Folkwear patter that was all we had in 1986. My Pinterest boards skew to the mature Regency woman, including a lot of period portraits. (Anyone on Pinterest considering this class, come visit!) Hope to be in that class when it happens. I’ve been a fan of your work since you gave an excellent overview of corded petticoats at Costume College in 2009.
